Welcome to the Lincoln Diocesan Registry web site
The Anglican Diocese of Lincoln is the Church of England in Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North-east Lincolnshire. Established by William the Conqueror, the Diocese originally stretched from the Humber to the Thames. Today it covers a more manageable 2,673 square miles, and serves a population of 943,000. There are around 31,000 people on the Church electoral rolls. There are more than 220 clergy and lay workers serving some 240 benefices with 514 parishes and 647 church buildings.
Our work involves giving advice to the Bishops and all other clergy in the diocese of Lincoln, to diocesan boards and committees, and to churchwardens and PCCs. We also deal with general enquiries from members of the public in relation to marriage, baptism, burial etc. Below are links to information about the main areas we cover.
